About Me
First and foremost I'm an enthousiastic creative that launches himself at creative projects like a rabid hound.
I find myself balancing between music and the visual arts, I make records, illustrations, album covers, posters, and music videos. Over the years, I’ve been involved in several musical projects: Surfing Stingrays, Raccoon Lagoon & Snooze Button.
With the boys but also solo, I have recorded multiple albums in various countries, played lots of live shows, and organized a bunch of events. And I surely had lots of fun.
At the moment I am planning the release of two albums, one for each musical project, and an art book for my illustrations.
Besides all that creative stuff, I’ve always been interested in technical and engineering challenges, so I started Time Wizard Custom Guitars in 2020 where I strive to build guitars and basses with modern specs and vintage vibes.
Where all of this will bring me, no one can tell.
Philosophy
Improvisation and sponteneity play a key part in my creative process. Maybe there's even a bit of subconscious channeling going on there. In my art style it is all about going with the flow and creating something that just happens. In recording music this typically expresses itself through using one of the first few takes. I don't like to plan things out too much when it comes to matters of expression.
Background
I was born in Russia but moved to Amsterdam at a young age where I was raised and where I still reside.
Since I was a kid, I have been banging on piano's and tinkering with guitars. I started my first band when I was 11 with a couple of classmates in a dirty garage. Since then, I have kept on going.
In recent years my aim has been set on developing my own distinct personal style, be it in music or visuals.
Besides my creative persuits, I have an academic background: I did my bachelor's degree in Sociology at the University of Amsterdam and a Minor in Entrepreneurship, followed by Business Administration: Designing Effective Organisations. After that, I completed a Master's in Business Administration: Entrepreneurship and Management in the Creative Industries. Here you can find my CV. Ok, that's enough about me!
